Development applications submitted

Our development applications for the proposed works at Federal Golf Club have been submitted and are now on notification for viewing and comment. These applications include:

• Golf course works (including earthworks, water infrastructure and other associated works)

• Subdivision of the existing parcel (resulting in a golf course parcel and future retirement village parcel)

• Design and siting of the retirement village (and associated infrastructure and other works)

The development applications are available for comment from the 19th February 2024 to the 8th March 2024. More details and access to the development applications can be found on the Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate (EPSDD) website in the page for development applications.

Community Consultation commencing 24 June 2023

We invite you to drop in, check out our plans and reach out with any comments or questions during our Community Consultation (being held 24 June to 5 August) for the proposed Concessional Lease Variation and design and siting of a retirement village at Federal Golf Club. Over this six week period we will be holding four information sessions that will be held in person and online (key details provided further below).

This Community Consultation also includes the presentation of more detailed information regarding the proposal including concept plans, proposed materials / finishes and perspective drawings. You will be able to find all these drawings on the active&connected website from the 24th June.

Territory Plan Variation 384 approval

Following the community consultation on Draft Variation 384 between October and December 2022, the Minister for the Environment Mick Gentleman has approved Plan Variation 384 (PV384). The Variation amends the Red Hill and Garran precinct maps and codes consistent with the RHIP - recommendation 7 in relation to future development for a retirement village at the Federal golf course with access off Kitchener St. The variation also rezones 10Ha of land considered to be of high ecological value in the north-west portion of the site and includes this land in the Red Hill Nature Reserve.
